Today I am joined by Sarah McQuillan, the founder of Healthy Minds. Sarah is no stranger to mental health challenges and understands the impact a mental health illness can have on one’s quality of life. Sarah is a qualified trainer, coach, facilitator and mum to four children. She spends her time facilitating Mental Health First Aid programs and running Mental Wellness workshops. Sarah shares many of her lived experience stories when training and during keynote presentations, in a hope to normalise the conversation of mental illness and to allow others to empathise and show compassion to not only themselves but others.
In today’s episode we discuss:
🔶 Sarah’s journey to accepting herself and now helping others
🔶 The difference between mental health and mental illness
🔶 The importance of early intervention
🔶 How we can work on our mental health before we need it most
🔶 Supporting someone experiencing mental illness
